Caribbean travel destinations: Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
Known for its low prices, friendly people and fantastic climate, Punta Cana is one of the best Caribbean destinations you can choose for your vacation. It is located on the eastern tip of the island of the Dominican Republic with spectacular white sandy beaches and clear waters. Although many people never tire of the beach and the hotel pool, if you do get a yearning to see what else Punta Cana has to offer, take a horseback riding tour of the area. The hotel or resort will be able to make the arrangements for you. The largest stables in the region can be found at Rancho RN-23 where there are 125 horses stabled on three separate ranches. Such an excursion will take you on a guided tour through groves of coconut palms and along the beach. In order to reach the ranches through you will have to traverse some of the wildest territory that Punta Cana has to offer, which in itself is a thrilling experience.
The avid golfer will surely want to tee off at the golf course. The course is average for its size, but the green fees are expensive. Some resorts offer a discount of 50% if you are have accommodations on the resort.
After dark, the best location in Punta Cana is on the grounds of the Bavaro Beach Golf and Resort. This is the most popular disco in Punta Cana with a superb sound system. You will find that the music choices are more European in nature because this part of the island receives many visitors from Europe each year. It is open every might at 11 p.m. and remains open until 5 in the morning so that you can still be dancing when the sun comes up.
