I would say that for most of you the beaches are one of the most important parts of a Caribbean vacation. There are so many beaches and come in so many varieties that even the most savvy beach connoisseur will have thier expectations exceeded. You will find more information about the beaches at individual resorts in the resort reviews section of this site, but here is a taste of the beaches that are waiting for you.

On Bermuda’s South Shore Park there are 12 pink-sand beaches. They range from long stretches to small hidden coves. Imagine the added romance of a stroll along a pink sand beach with that someone special.

The Bahamas offers beaches with lively resort action in Nassau, Paradise Island and Grand Bahama to nearly deserted stretches of pristine sand and sea in the Abacos and other Out Islands.

Grand Cayman’s Seven Mile Beach, which is 5 ½ miles long, is a stretch of white powder sand where the majority of Grand Cayman’s top resorts and condominiums are located.

In Jamaica there is also a Seven Mile Beach in Negril on the western tip of the island. This is the perfect spot to watch the sun set into the sea and watch for the rare Green Flash. This rare refraction of sunlight, which sometimes happens in the West Indies on cloudless evenings, is said to guarantee true love to couples who witness it.

Another favourite past time for travellers to the Caribbean is water sports. Snorkeling is the most popular of these water sports and is available at most resorts. One hotspot for snorkeling is Buck Island Reef National Monument. This small sand cay is surrounded by lush coral gardens and is just off St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands. There are over 250 different species of fish in the marine sanctuary along with the elkhorn coral, sponges and crustaceans. Check the resort reviews for specific information on the waterspots available at your Caribbean resort.

Let’s not forget about Golf. Many Caribbean resorts are located near championship courses developed by the sport’s top-name designers. Sandy Lane Resort & Country Club in Barbados rose in popularity since it hosted the 2006 World Golf Championships – Barbados World Cup. The Monkey and the Country Club Course were both designed by Tom Fazio. New in 2008 is Blue Shark Golf Club on New Providence Island, Bahamas. This course is set on a former plantation and was designed by Greg Norman. Caribbean resort reviews has the information you need to book your tee times well in advance.

And then there is my favourite part, the Caribbean’s romantic appeal. Resorts throughout the region are finding exciting new ways to cater to all types of romantic getaways and honeymoons. Many of the luxury resorts are including Spas on their properties. Make sure to include your personal experiences at the Spas when you write your very own Caribbean resort review.

At the Royal in Cancun and the Royal in Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya they offer a Couples In-Suite Tequila Experience which includes a body brushing, salt scrub, sage oil body massage and a tequila, lime and honey bath, all with a glass of fine tequila. Sandals Resorts offer enticing tropical treatments using island cane sugar or Blue Mountain Coffee at the Red Lane Spa. Prehaps a dual massage in a garden gazebo or on the beach. You could also learn to massage each other with the In Each Other’s Hands massage, just don’t tell my wife about that one!!

There are private island resorts such as Peter Island in the British Virgin Islands, and Young Island and Palm Island in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. For a party ambience, look to the larger resorts, particularly on islands such as Jamaica, St. Lucia, Aruba, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. These islands also tend to statisfy culture-seeking couples with historical sites, art galleries and cultural events.

All this information and a whole lot more await you here at Caribbean Resort Reviews. Let’s get you there as soon as possible. Once again, if you cannot find what you are looking for please ask.

Don’t forget to come back after your vacation and add your own Caribbean resort review!

Scuba Diving at Mona Island

Among scuba divers, Puerto Rico is often overshadowed by the other islands of the Caribbean, such as the Bahamas, Bonaire or Grand Cayman. Yet Puerto Rico includes Mona Island, the gem of a chain of small islands known as “The Galapagos of the Caribbean” for their rich and diverse ecosystems on both land and sea. Both Mona and its neighbors are protected as a nature reserve, and Mona lies 50 miles from the west coast of Puerto Rico, two conditions that combine to ensure that Mona Island retains a relatively pristine underwater environment teeming with colorful corals and thick schools of tropical fish.
